In this email: 1. POTLUCK! Please sign up! 2. Concert 3. Playing Tests 4. Concert Attendance Opportunities 1. We'll be having a NACHO Potluck for our orchestra social after our Concert on Monday, December 2nd. The kids are super excited about it. Please let me know if you're willing to help set up the items and get it ready to go. Click on this link to sign up to bring one or two things if you are able: https://www.PerfectPotluck.com/VGFY0807 2. Our Concert is the first Monday after Thanksgiving break! Please make note of the date, December 2nd! We'll be taking yearbook photos before our concert at 5:45pm. Then we'll do a quick run-through with the percussionists before the concert begins at 7:00pm. Our Orchestra Nacho Potluck Social should begin by 8:00pm and students and families are encouraged to participate if you can! 3. Since completing the mid-term self-assessment, hopefully students have been practicing diligently to be ready for this next concert. Our final playing test of Q2 is due by Sunday, December 1st. Students who know they will be out of town for Thanksgiving have been encouraged to complete the assignment before Tuesday! This is a slightly different version of playing tests than previous times. In addition to recording the playing test sections with the metronome and uploading them to google classroom, students are also going to complete a self-evaluation. The form was/will be sent home during class. It is also available on google classroom. 4.Here are the remaining concert attendance opportunities I'm aware of in Cedar: December 4 - 7:30pm @ SUU Event Center - The Piano Guys tickets available online ($32-$57) December 6 - 7:30pm @ Heritage Center - SUU Holiday Concert December 8 & 9 - 7:30pm @ Heritage Center - Orchestra of Southern Utah (Messiah) - Free December 10 - 6:00pm @ Cedar Middle School - CMS Orchestras - Free December 16 - 5:00 & 7:30pm @ Canyon View HS - CVHS Orchestra - Free (call for time) December 17 - 5:00, 6:00, 7:00pm @ Canyon View Middle - CVMS Orchestra - Free (call for time) Thanks for encouraging your child to practice every day!
